Probate records are public under Michigan law, and online access to these documents is through the MiCOURT portal. However, while recent Probate filings may be available online, access to non-digitized older records is through the Livingston County Clerk's Office. Furthermore, certain probate court records are exempt from public access. Unauthorized persons cannot access:

  • Medical or psychiatric records filed with the Livingston County Probate Court
  • Adoption and juvenile records
  • Financial details sealed by the court.
